If you or someone you know is in immediate danger and need of help, then please call 999. Otherwise, please find some resources below that can deal with urgent, but not life-threatening, mental health support.

NHS 111 and NHS services in Greater Manchester

If you are in crisis, or are concerned about a family member or loved one, you can call 111 and select the mental health option to speak to a trained mental health professional. This service is available to people of all ages (including children) and can be called 24/7.

For support in Wigan and Greater Manchester, you can also call the Wigan Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 051 3253 or the Greater Manchester Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 953 0285.

Samaritans

To talk about anything that is upsetting you, you can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call 116 123 (free from any phone), email jo@samaritans.org or visit some branches in person. 




Shout

If you would prefer not to talk but want some mental health support, you could text SHOUT to 85258. Shout offers a confidential 24/7 text service providing support if you are in crisis and need immediate help.



National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK

Offers a supportive listening service to anyone with thoughts of suicide. You can call them on 0800 689 5652 (6pm to midnight every day).
